A funeral of H'mong people in
Y Ty, near
Sapa. When a family member dies,
his funeral will be organized at an open ground near where he lives. All family
members, neighbors and relatives come and drink condolescence wine on the
ground. After the funeral everybody is given a piece of buffalo meat...In the
meanwhile the whole funeral family sit mourning by the coffin. People who
attends the funeral offer 20.000 VND (aprox 1 USD) and is recorded by the
family, including tourists who pass by.
The two people died on the same day at age 39 and 40. Both died of stroke and
could not be rescued for some reasons however the main reason (according to
people) is too much drinking without any food.
