After many successful experiments, balloon festival officially kicks off on 1st September and will close on 3rd September at the Central Square, Moc Chau district, province Son La with many exciting programs.

While the service relates to existing facilities in village and farm houses, for 38-year-old farmer Ha Thi Tho from Mai Hich Commune, serving tourists with food and accommodation is as fancy as it gets.

Moc Chau National Tourism Zone, covering more than 206,000 hectares in Moc Chau and Van Ho districts, features diversified and unique products, natural landscapes and ethnic cultural identities, such as the Ban Flower Festival, Nao Song Festival, New Crop Festival, and Miss Cow festival.

Thai ethnic group has the population of over 1 million mainly concentrated in the northern mountainous provinces and in some areas of the Central Highlands Vietnam. Thai people appeared in Vietnam millions years ago and often resided on the banks of large rivers or streams.

The tourism zone is expected to become an attractive national tourism destination, consisting of modern infrastructure and high quality tourism products featuring the northwestern provinces’ cultural characteristics and historical value of the Dien Bien Phu historical relic site, Pa Khoang Lake and Muong Phang historical and cultural forest..

The festival aims to develop the cultural values of the Red River in the spiritual life of the people. This activity is a part of the tourism program "Back to Roots" of three provinces of Phu Tho, Yen Bai, and Lao Cai.

Apart from traditional worshipping rituals dedicated to the nation’s legendary father and mother, Lac Long Quan and Au Co, as well as the Hung Kings, the festival will honour Xoan singing, the ceremonial singing originating in Phu Tho which has been recently recognised by the UNESCO.
