It is here in Dong Van area, amid the towering hills, that you will discover one
of the most diverse stretches of the north. In one day you'll rub shoulders with
vendors from several area hilltribes as they trade their wares at the market,
step back in time at the palace of a former H'mong king and see traces of
Chinese influence in Pho Bang where the local houses reflect old Chinese style.

Scenic beauty coupled with diverse cultures, our tour is a sensational journey
into one of the country's most remote regions.
Day 1: Hanoi – Tuyen Quang – Quan Ba (L, D)
You will be met up with team at gathering point in Hanoi (The Opera House) and
depart to Ha Giang via Tuyen Quang province.
11h: We arrive in Tuyen Quang city to have lunch in restaurant. After lunch, we
continue our drive towards Dong Van stone plateau that was recognized to be the
World Heritage – the Geography Park.
In the afternoon, we will come to Tam Son town and take a walk up to the
observatory to enjoy Twin Mountain (Fairy Bosom) sightseeing – the unique
special formation made by nature.
Late afternoon, we arrive in Nam Dam village which offers a very much valuable
setting for tourism, including traditional rural villages, a relaxing
atmosphere, traditionally dressed ethnic minority people, the typical karst
landscape of the Dong Van Geopark, mountains, and paddy fields.
After checking in home-stay, you can join or behold the way local host make your
meal. Then we have dinner together.
In the evening, there is an option for you to enjoy Dao musical-cultural
performance in home-stay (fee on your own). Overnight in home-stay.
Day 2: Palace of Hmong King – Dong Van (B,L,D)
Walk around Nam Dam village with a local guide. Visit the Dear Water Fall in
forested area, walk through a landscape by paddy fields, hills, and the famous
Dong Van Geopark karst Stones to a view point overlooking vast Lung Tam/Can Ty
valley. In Nam Dam, decide between two options to continue to Tam Son: a
beautiful panoramic hill route (1,5h) or the straight route (40min) along Nam
Dam lake and the Fairy Bosom Mountain.
After trekking tour, we come back village to have lunch and take a rest for a
while.
Early afternoon we continue our road trip to Dong Van plateau of Stone. A stop
will be made en route for visiting the residence of the Vuong family, still
called “Palace of Hmong King” – the unique architecture’s still remained over
100 years within Plateau of Stone.
17h30: We will arrive in Dong Van old town, then we check into a homestay (a
lovely H’Mong traditional house with tourist services) and have dinner.
After dinner, you will enjoy the night life there by walking peacefully on
hung-lantern old street.
Day 3: Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Lung Cu – Lung Cam – Yen Minh (B,L,D)
After breakfast, spend time seeing how ethnic minority in Ha Giang communicate
and exchange in Dong Van market. Some unique ethnic cultures are exposed there.
10h00: Start into the most beautiful distance of the trip. It is Ma Pi Leng pass
connecting Dong Van and Meo Vac. Dong Van and Meo Vac - the highest frontier
points of Vietnam Nation bordering with China, restricted area in the past but
lately opening to welcome adventure visitors. Terrain of rugger Stone mountains
high and sharp, the local people had spent 6 years to construct 20km of road and
especially the workers had to hang themselves to work on the rugger Stone cliffs
during 11 months and finally the road was completed and those workers named this
thread road is The Road of Happiness. Ma Pi Leng means kneed-horse pass - this
means the pass is so high that all horses passing have to bend their knees to
rest by being exhausted.
We come back to Dong Van to have lunch.
13h00: We depart to visit Lung Cu – the North Pole of Vietnam where you can see
the beautiful paranomic village landscape down there. You will have time to take
a walk to Lo Lo Chai village to see local life and houses.
15h30: Get on van to come to the authentic Lung Cam village where H’mong, Lo Lo
Chai, Han ethnic people living. The wild and beautiful life there inspired
Vietnamese filmmakers to do famous movie “The Pao’s story”.
18h00: Arrive to Yen Minh town, check in hotel and have dinner.
Day 4: Yen Minh - Quan Ba - Hoang Su Phi (B,L,D)
After breakfast depart for Lung Tam while enjoying the breathtaking landscapes
of Yen Minh Pass. Arrive at Lung Tam commune which is set amongst perfect
surrounding nature before visiting the workshop of Ms. Mai who gathered over 100
Hmong and Zao women in difficulties and helped them to learn traditional weaving
and embroidery for better living.
Continue the drive over stunning Quan Ba Pass which offers the fascinating
scenery en route visit another village of the Hmong people. Arrive in Ha Giang
at noon and stop for lunch break.
Enjoy an hour walk to explore the Me village which situated around a large
valley near Ha Giang before transferring 105km to Quang Vinh town let of Hoang
Su Phi district. Contrasting to the rocky land of Meo Vac, Dong Van and Yen Minh,
Hoang Su Phi district and its neighboring Xin Man district have very different
scenery. Lying on the top of the Chay River Massif, these two districts are
covered by lush and green forest, tea farms and possess the most impressive
terraced rice fields in Vietnam. The road winds its way on high mountain sides
and offers beautiful landscapes.
Arrive at your hotel in late afternoon, check in hotel and enjoy dinner.
Overnight at Pan Hou Lodge in Hoang Su Phi.
Day 5: Hoang Su Phi - Hanoi (B,L)
Breakfast in the lodge before the return drive to Hanoi. Enroute back to the
capital enjoy a typical Vietnamese lunch in a local restaurant. Arrive back in
Hanoi late afternoon.
